The Canadian dollar reached its strongest level since Jan. 22. The fall in the U.S. currency is due to the perception of President Donald Trump's proposed duties as a negotiating tactic rather than an end goal. Earlier, Trump suspended the threat of significant duties on Mexico and Canada, agreeing to a 30-day pause in exchange for concessions on border issues. Technically, the USD/CAD pair's decline came from the area of significant highs, reached in 2016 and 2020, which we wrote about earlier.
