The bitcoin rate against the US dollar fell to $75,000. The reason was the general situation in the financial markets and fears of recession amid the introduction of new trade tariffs in the United States. U.S. stock indices such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite ended the trading session on April 4 with a drop of almost 6%. President Trump's imposition of tariffs caused stocks to lose more than $8 trillion in market value - more than they lost during the worst week of the 2008 financial crisis. Still, amid pressure on traditional markets, bitcoin has shown relative resilience. Some analysts note a decrease in the volatility of its quotes amid a rise in the Volatility Index (VIX) for stocks to its highest level since the COVID-19 pandemic. Against the background of the collapse of US stock indices, bitcoin only earlier this week updated its March lows, which may indicate the relative stability of the asset against the background of global economic turmoil.
